Honey-Broiled Salmon Filets

Salmon is always a great choice when you want to have a healthy, tasty, and easy-to-prepare meal, and it’s especially refreshing on a hot summer night. This Honey-Broiled Salmon recipe is a perfect example of that. In this recipe, the combination of the sweet honey, savory soy sauce, tangy apple cider vinegar, garlicky flavor, and black pepper creates a delicious and flavorful glaze that adds a perfect balance to the hearty salmon.

If you’ve never had salmon before, you’ll be surprised by how filling it is. I could easily eat an 8 oz steak, but one 4-6 oz filet is usually plenty for most people. This recipe serves 4, and cooks fast for those busy weeknights. Just be careful to watch it under the broiler so it doesn’t burn. Since it’s summer time, you could also easily adapt this recipe for the grill.

This honey-broiled salmon is a delicious, healthy, and easy-to-make dish to add to your dinner rotation. One of my favorite ways to serve this is with a lemony white rice and chopped zucchini and summer squash.

Honey-Broiled Salmon Filets

Ingredients
  

  • 4 salmon filets 4-6oz each
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 scallion optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the broiler to high and place a rack 6-8 inches from heat source.
  • Arrange the salmon filets skin-side down on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  • In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, and black pepper.
  • Brush half of the mixture over the salmon filets.
  • Broil the salmon for 3-4 minutes and then brush with the remaining mixture.
  • Broil for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is browned on top and cooked through.
  • Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. (Optional) Chop the scallion and use to top salmon and side dishes.
